Ribbit Outsmarts Reddy the Fox
u have any id
The first snows of winter had just fallen like a white blanket covering everything over the Green Forest. All the little forest creatures were tucked away in their burrows, protected from the cold and frosty wind. Christmas was not too far away and there was great excitement in the air. Ribbit, the rabbit couldn't wait for Christmas. It was the best day of his life. He loved getting presents, "I wonder what I am going to get for Christmas this year," thought.Ribbit. He couldn't stand it another minute. He had to call his cousin, Benjamin Bunny, " Hey, Ben why don't you come over today and help me wrap some more presents.?" All the little creatures in the Green Forest liked to exchange gifts together, except for Reddy the fox. No one, especially the bunnies, trusted him. Reddy was always trying to do something to disrupt the fun.
Let me tell you what happened last year, when Reddy the fox tried to trap Ribbit Ribbit the rabbit, always like to celebrate Christmas by wrapping gifts with his cousin Benjamin Bunny. As usual, Ribbit called for Ben to come over to help. When Benjamin arrived, he saw the most beautifully wrapped Christmas present sitting on Ribbit's front porch, but, it didn't have a tag. Who could it be from? Benjamin picked it up and took it inside to give to Ribbit.. "Hey, Ribbit, look what I found on your front porch! Ribbit just knew it just had to be his Christmas present."Now, Ribbit,' said Ben 'don't get so excited. It isn't Christmas yet. Just then the telephone rang. Ribbit poltiely answered, "hello, this is Ribbit. Who is calling please!?" Without any explanation, the voice on the other end of the phone warned, 'Don't open that present Ribbit, It is a trick to trap you.". Ribbit dropped the phone and stood there in shock."What the matter Ribbit" asked Ben,'You look like you have seen a ghost!" Ribbits big Christmas package was not a gift at all. "Disgustedly Ribbit said, " It is a rabbit trap, Reddy thinks he is so smart. He is not gong to ruin our Christmas this year again. I have an idea to teach him a lesson."Ribbit continued, "I think we should change the wrapping paper and give it right back to Reddy. We will trick him instead!" Just the thought of Reddy opening the package and seeing his own trap made the boys laugh and laugh hysterically. Tears had turn to joy in that minute. For the next hour the rabbits carefully unwrapped and rewrapped the Christmas present. It looked even more beautiful than before.
Trudging through the snow with the gift on their sled, the two bunnies made their way over to Reddy's den. Together they lifted the present off the sled, walked up the steps and gently placed it on the front porch.. Ribbit rang the door bell and quickly ran with Ben to hid behind the bushes.. Reddy answered door, took one look at the present and said in his deep fox voice,"Wow, what a big present for me. I must be a very important fox to get such a big present. I hardly get any presents.I wonder what it is." Reddy brought the Christmas gift inside. He couldn't wait for Christmas to open it. As soon as Reddy was inside and distracted, the to bunnies hopped up onto the porch and peeked through the window to watch Reddy's reaction when he discovered that his trick had back fired on him.
I forgot to tell you something . When Ribbit and Benjamin rewrapped the gift, they used the worst sticky glue you could imagine, so when Reddy unwrapped the present the wrapping paper got stuck all over his fur. He was furious! "Who would ever wrap a present with sticky glue?" But it didn't stop Reddy from continuing to open his present. "A rabbit trap!" snarled Reddy, and it's my rabbit trap!" Reddy was so mad that his red fur was really RED with anger. He knew immediately what had happened, "That Ribbit thinks he has out foxed me, does he. Well, I will show him a thing or two."
Outside on the porch looking through the window, Ribbit and Benjamin could hard stop laughing. It was hilarious to see Reddy trying to free himself. Ribbit knocked on the window and waved at Reddy saying, "Merry Christmas Reddy. We hope you liked your Christmas present. Come on, Ben, hop on the sled and I will give you a ride home", said Ribbit. Reddy opened the door, shaking his furry paws, he yelled, "You think you are so funny ,just you wait till next. Christmas. I will get you !"
Word got around the rabbit community to watch out for packages left on their front porch were not to be opened Ribbit always wondered who that good friend was , who called and warned him about the trap. Who do you think it was?
